My family and I have lived in Erie for almost 9 years now. My husband and I love the area; but honestly don't get out very much. When you have young kids, it's tough to get a date night! My husband and I try to go out at least once a month, just the two of us. Most of the time we'll go to dinner or see a movie. I was prepping for our last date night and realized that I didn't want to just get dinner. I wanted to do something fun and unique!
This led me to wonder what types of different date night activities Erie offers. I know we have plenty of great restaurants, but I wanted to find something different. So if you're looking for your next date night idea, try one from the list below and let me know how it goes!
Attend a Dinner Theater Performance
Enjoy dinner and a show at the Station Dinner Theatre. The dinner theater is open year round and boasts comedies, musicals, and great food!
Take an Art Class
Channel your inner artist and take a class together at Glass Growers Gallery. GGG offers classes in watercolor, polymer clay, and mosaic tiles. If being hands-on isn't your thing, take in a gallery night there instead!
Try an Escape Room
This one is great to do with friends, too! Test your teamwork and problem-solving skills by attempting to escape from one of the several escape rooms available in Erie.
Go on a Ghost Walk
Explore Erie's haunted history by taking a ghost walk with Candlelight Ghost Walks in Girard. Keep in mind that these tours only run May-October. But this would be a great way to get some exercise and take in some local history!
Check out the Local Wineries
Possibly my favorite activity on the list! Indulge in a night of wine and fun by taking a tour at the Mazza Vineyards or Presque Isle Wine Cellars.
Attend a Performance at Schuster Theater
Check out what's on stage at Gannon University's Schuster Theater. My husband and I attended a performance here and the cast was great! It's an intimate theater experience within walking distance of the Flagship City Food Hall (which was FANTASTIC!!)
Take a Cooking Class
Don't want to go to another restaurant for your date night? Book a cooking class with a personal chef! There are classes for couples, groups, and even families!
Book a Sunset Sail
Take a cruise onboard a sailboat with Your Sailing Adventure! I mean, I can't think of anything more romantic than watching the sunset over the water from your own personal sailboat!
Catch a Show at Kellar's
Check out the schedule for Kellar's Modern Magic and Comedy Club. This one is definitely on my to-do list!
Check out a Festival
Here in Erie we have some AMAZING festivals all summer long! (Being a cantor at St. Patrick's, I'm partial to the Irish festival!) Between the entertainment, games, food, and drinks, you won't be disappointed!
